NDPC signs MOUs with the procurement bureau and the Governors' Forum

The NDPC executed two memoranda of understanding on 8 May 2026, one with the Bureau of Public Procurement and one with the Nigeria Governors' Forum.

The Bureau of Public Procurement agreement threads data protection compliance into federal procurement, making every vendor and contractor in the government supply chain auditable on NDPA grounds as part of contract compliance. The Governors' Forum agreement extends the Commission's coordination across all 36 states and the FCT, where enforcement presence had previously been thinnest.

Taken together with the Temu probe, the Corporate Affairs Commission investigation and the April advisory, the agreements show the NDPC expanding into procurement chains and across states within the same quarter. Government suppliers and multi-state operators in Nigeria now face data protection scrutiny through channels that did not exist at the start of 2026.
