NDPC signs MOUs with the procurement bureau and the Governors' Forum

8 May 2026  ·  More from May 2026

The NDPC executed two memoranda of understanding on 8 May 2026: one with the Bureau of Public Procurement, one with the Nigeria Governors' Forum. Institutional plumbing, but plumbing with reach. The BPP agreement threads data protection compliance into federal procurement, meaning every vendor and contractor in the government supply chain becomes auditable on NDPA grounds as part of contract compliance. The NGF agreement extends the Commission's coordination across all 36 states and the FCT, where enforcement presence had been thinnest. Taken with the Temu probe, the CAC investigation and the April advisory, the MOUs complete a picture of a regulator expanding vertically into procurement chains and horizontally across states in the same quarter. Government suppliers and multi-state operators in Nigeria now face data protection scrutiny through channels that did not exist at the start of 2026.
