Privacy policy

Last updated: 24 July 2026

This policy is short because we collect almost nothing. That is deliberate: a data protection publication should be the easy case.

What this site collects

Nothing, by itself. These are static pages. No cookies, no analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no third-party embeds. Our hosting provider processes server logs (IP address, user agent) transiently to serve pages and prevent abuse, as every host does.

If you subscribe

Your email address is collected by Beehiiv Inc., our email service provider, acting as our processor under its own privacy policy, and is used to send you the Digest and for nothing else. We see your address and standard delivery statistics. We never sell, rent or share subscriber data. Every issue carries a one-click unsubscribe; unsubscribing deletes you from the active list.

Who is responsible

The controller is Law Lab Africa (incorporated in the United States), the publisher of this site. Contact: info@lawlab.africa.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time what we hold about you (for subscribers: your email address and delivery history), ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to info@lawlab.africa; we answer within 14 days.

If you are in Kenya, the Data Protection Act 2019 applies to our processing of your personal data and you may complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (odpc.go.ke). Data subjects elsewhere have the rights their local law provides; we honour deletion and access requests from anywhere.
