Senegal's CDP comes back online after 45 days down

The website of Senegal's Commission des Données Personnelles returned on 12 April 2026 after an outage that began on 26 February, 45 days during which the authority had no working web presence. We verified the outage independently through weekly checks; this was downtime, not access-blocking. The episode matters for two reasons. Regulator infrastructure is part of the enforcement picture, and a 45-day gap at a major francophone DPA means any decisions, guidance or enforcement actions published in that window fell out of public view and out of every monitoring pipeline watching the site. And the outage changed nothing about obligations: compliance duties under Senegal's data protection law accrued throughout. Controllers processing Senegalese data should expect the CDP's catch-up activity, not credit for its silence.
