Senegal's CDP comes back online after 45 days down

The website of Senegal's Commission des Données Personnelles returned on 12 April 2026 after an outage that began on 26 February, 45 days during which the authority had no working web presence. The outage was verified independently through weekly checks and confirmed as downtime rather than deliberate access-blocking.

The episode is significant for two reasons. Regulator infrastructure is part of the enforcement picture, and a 45-day gap at a major francophone data protection authority means that any decisions, guidance or enforcement actions published in that window fell outside public view and outside every monitoring pipeline watching the site. Compliance obligations under Senegal's data protection law continued to accrue throughout the outage regardless.

Controllers processing Senegalese data should anticipate the CDP resuming published activity to reflect the period it was offline.
